Nesting

This site-specific installation explores the connection between memory and the human body. I incorporated a variety of found objects that illicit memories of my childhood (candy, television, tv trays) and arranged them inside of a sort of woven nest-like structure made of vines, branches, and twigs all of which is situated inside of a dark, uninviting basement room. These contrasting sculptures, found objects and spaces are meant to echo the way we recall and store memories and how these memories have the ability to change and become distorted as we age mentally and physically.

wood, wire, light, found object, candy. (2021)
